18 January 2008 - We would like to wish all our Kyokushin friends around the globe a wonderful kyokushin-filled 2 0 0 8. We hope to keep this website more up to date than we have had in the past. Busy personal lives sometimes prevent us from having time to keep this website current. This is the fourth version of our du Pree kyokushin website. The first version came out in 2000. Lots of developments have taken place in the Kyokushin world and our personal Kyokushin careers. Through this website we try to keep our Kyokushin friends from all over the world updated with Kyokushin news from around the world and provide a way for all our friends to stay in touch with us. We intend to make many improvements to the site over time and hop you can bare with us while we work to improve it. Please also check out the independent web shop -as it should be available soon- for more recent additions to the catalog and soon an online shopping cart will be added. As this is still our preliminary design, links and subjects will change as we keep improving the site. Kyokushin! Osu.

Dutchman Victor Teixeira takes second place at European Championships in Victoria Gasteiz, Spain.
Victor Teixeira got one step closer to reaching his first European Championship title. Two years back Victor took 3rd place, this year he got to stand face to face with Modzylowski once again in the light weight final of Europe. CONGRATULATIONS ! Omedetoo gozaimasu. For Results please click
Ewerton Teixeira wins his first k1 fight
Kyokushin World Champion Ewerton Teixeira won his first K1 fight by TKO. His opponent: Japanese veteran Fujimoto Yusuke. Kyokushin's Glaube Feitosa and Alexandr Pitchkunov also secured a spot in the next round of the K1 prelims. A few weeks later, Brasil team member Andrews Nakahara fights his first Pride middle weight bout against veteran Sakaraba of Japan. Although Andrews gets submitted in the second round, his debut is impressive and promising for the future.
Rudolf Conquet and Victor Teixeira secure their Dutch Open titles
Papendrecht, the Netherlands - Conquet and Teixeira secured their 4th, respectively 3rd Dutch Open title at the Dutch Open of 2008. The tournament is attracting more an more international fighters. This year among other: Holland, Belgium, France, Hungary, Poland, Tunisia and Austria. This year's tournament saw only 3 Dutch (male) fighters take the honour stage.

Bulgarians reign at the US weight category Championships in Los Angeles
Los Angeles, USA - With true conviction the Bulgarian team. The Bulgarian ended up taking 17 trophees with 7 Champions! In Super Heavy weight New Yorks Slawomir Was proved that his win last year was no lucky shot as he fought himself to the No.1 spot once again.

Dutch fight at Poland vs Europe One-match festival in Wroclaw, Poland
Dutchmen Rudolf Conquet and Victor Teixeira fight one-match event for Polishman Sylwestr Sypien, who hangs up his Kyokushin tournament dogi after a very impressive tournament career. Rudolf Conquet fought against Polish Tomasz Najduch. The two met multiple times before on the European Stage. This bout was judged a draw after 4 minutes. Victor Teixeira also found himself fighting an opponent he faced before. He fought with Polish European champion Modzylowski. The bout also ended in a draw. Many of Europe's top fighters took the stage against Polish top fighters in an exciting event.

Ewerton Teixeira lives up to the expectations and wins the 9th World Tournament
Tokyo, Japan - It may not be a surprise to most of us to hear that Ewerton Teixeira of Brasil has been crowned the new world Champion at the 9th World tournament in japan. However, the young fighter from Brasil really left no doubt about it that he deserves this title. With a technical KO in the final against Czech's surprise Jan Soukop, teixeira silences all critics.. if any. Teixeira at Americas Cup 2007
Shihan Vlado Haljer and Senpai Fred Haljer open dojo in Barendrecht, the Netherlands
Rotterdam, The Netherlands - After decades of instructing at Hollands very own Honbu (Shihan Hollanders' dojo) Shihan Vlado Haljer and his son Senpai Fred Haljer have finally opened their own dojo. The new dojo not too far from home in the suburban town of Barendrecht is named KATSU HEIWA. The classes will be taught at 2 locations starting this summer. For more information please. email

Lucinda Bender du Prée wins her first youth title
Berkel, The Netherlands, 30 June 2007 - Lucinda Bender du Prée secured her first tounrament title this weekend. At the National Youth championhsips in Berkel. Lucinda is the youngest Kyokushin practicioner in the du Pree family and we are very optimistic about her future kyokushin performances. Lucinda's Kyokushin fighter profile currently being updated.
Brasilian Ewerton Teixeira wins his 5th Americas cup title
New York, 24 June 2007 - Ewerton Teixeira reigns once again after defeating his country man and former title holder Andrews Nakahara in this years' final at the Americas cup in New York. Teixeira needed no extensions to get enough corner flags on his hand to win the finale. The two supertalents went head to head in this much anticipated fight. We look forward to seeing the Brasilian fighters at this years' world tournament in Tokyo, Japan. New York's instructor Slawek Was took 5th place and a very impressive tameshi wari award for breaking a whopping 33 boards with 4 techniques. Something we are unsure if has been performed earlier in the past. European Open Championships won by Spain's Alejandro Navarro
Riesa - Germany - Alejandro Navarro of Spain surprised Europe and especially its Super Heavy weights by beating all European opponents at this years' European Open weight tournament held in Riesa Germany. Alejandro has proven to be a force to be reconned with at this years World Tournament in Tokyo, Japan - 1. Eastern Europeans rule at European Championships in Greece
Volos, Greece, May 2007 - The European Championships of 2007 were held in Greece this year. As a common trend all categories were dominated by fighters from Eastern Europe this year. Light weight was won by Shamil Lakaev of Russia, MQ by Elikhanov of Russia, HW by Lucian Gogonel of Rumania (his 6th European title in 3 different categories. SHW was won by Sokoup Jan of Czech Republic. The tournament gave a sneak peek of what can be expected of Eastern Europe at this years World tournament in November.
Rudolf Conquet wins Dutch Open 2007 Super Heavy weight division
Netherlands, 4 March 2007 - Rudolf Conquet made an impressive comeback after a long period out of the tournament circuit. In the suspense breaking final Conquet beat Tunesian karateka Souli Imed with a devastating ushiro-geri to the liver. In the middle weight division Michael Biskos of Belgium won over favorite Victor Teixeira, who was advised by medical staff not to fight the final bout after injuries sustained in previous fights. The Dutch Open championships is becoming a more popular tournament in Europe. This year 10 countries participated. For the first time in the history of the Dutch Open the light weight title went to a participant coming from elsewhere: Polish vice-champion Pawel Korus took the lightweight crown. New York powerhouse Michael Martinez secured a spot on the podium of this years' North American weight category championships. In the final of his Super Heavy weight category Martinez found his superior in Polish former European champion Marek Kosowski. Michael also took 2nd place in 2006 & 2004 and first place at the LA cup of 2003 and 2004. The New York dojo participated in Montreal with 3 students.
The tournament was used for the selection of 6 fighters from North America who are to participate in the World tournament in Tokyo, April of this year.
